'Inflammation' means a collective defence against a foreign substance, by our body system. A damaged portion in our own self, which is not harmonious with our system, is eliminated by a process called inflammatory process. If this process is interfered with, by administering anti inflammatory drugs, we begin to harm our body. In future, we will be only a bundle of diseases, the worst of which being gout and rheumatoid arthritis.

Will you please tell us what causes infection?

Generally the bacteria are present on the surface of our skin, intestinal tract, and respiratory and urinary passages. But they do not grow in excess as to cause infection as long as the vitality of the skin or the organs is preserved.   In case there appears a weakness in an organ, or, there is a loss of integrity of the skin due to injury, the vitality and resistance of the cells are lowered. To overcome this the number of bacteria increases in order to enhance the immunity of the devitalized cells. At this stage of bacterial growth, there may be mild symptoms of infection. This is only temporary and heals spontaneously because of the growing local immunity, along with the increased bacterial growth. Any interference in this natural growth of bacteria caused by applying antiseptic lotions will stop the immune mechanism from functioning and lead to a sure and progressive infection.

Question :

But, antibiotics do play a role in containing and curing over whelming infections. How can you simply reject them?

Antibiotics, in fact, have a very little supportive role in containing overwhelming infections. In the first place, the patient has enough vitality and resistance to withstand the infection without which he would have succumbed to it. Even if you flood him with antibiotics, in the absence of his natural resistance, you cannot achieve anything. For example, in patients who are debilitated and who are poor in vital strength due to advanced cancer or diabetes, even a simple infection becomes fulminant and ends up in gangrene resulting in their death. This will never happen if only the patient has enough immunity and resistance.

It means you are beginning to understand. Let it be very clear to us.

The first effect of antibiotics is giving a death blow to the immune system of our body.

Secondly, since the antibiotics are chemicals and not in tune with out system, they are poisonous. The moment a medicine enters the body, the body system rebels against it and rejects it. The body strains its every nerve to eliminate it from the body through all possible outlets-through faces, urine, sweat, and saliva. Sometimes they are excreted through the milk and exhaled through the breath also. This is severe form of exertion on the part of our system and in the process it loses much of its basic life energy.

Allopathy can’t be a subject worthy of serious study as its basic principles are illogical although it claims to have ‘twin concepts’ constituting a strong base for its success and popularity.

Now let us consider the ridiculous twin concepts.

First let us take the “Bacterial Theory”.

According this theory, bacteria are essential germs necessary for our survival since the presence of germs in our body provides us the resistance and immunity against the disease germs.

Now let’s consider how bacteria and germs give us immunity or resistance against disease.

Typhoid fever is caused by typhoid bacteria; diphtheria by diphtheria bacteria; polio is caused by polio virus and tetanus by tetanus bacteria.

To protect a person from typhoid fever, typhoid bacteria are killed and injected into the body, as typhoid vaccine. This vaccine containing typhoid bacteria gives us immunity and resistance against typhoid fever.

Similarly, D.P.T. vaccine containing germs of diphtheria, pertussis bacteria (producing whooping cough) and tetanus bacteria, protects us from diphtheria, whooping cough and tetanus respectively.

Thus every bacterium is essential to our  bodily system, because each of them functions in our body as specific vaccine against diseases each bacterium is capable of causing. These bacteria present in our body, sustain our immunity and resistance. Hence they are indispensable to a healthy life.

Therefore, the Bacterial Theory earn the credibility to gain the status of a well conceived fact.

Now, the Second: “The Anti-bacterial theory or the antibiotic theory.”

This theory contradicts and annihilates the ‘bacterial theory’ because antibiotics kill and eliminate the presence of bacteria in our body. Once a particular bacterium is removed from the body by an antibiotics, the immunity against the disease that the particular bacterium is capable of effecting in the body, begins to fall. This fall in the resistance against the bacteria causes increased growth of the same bacteria.

Question:

How then do you account for a patients getting cured from fever due to infection, after taking antibiotics?

Answer given by:

Normally there is an equilibrium between the vitality of an organ and the numerical strength of bacteria. When the vitality of the cellular structure of an organ becomes weak, the bacteria begin to grow faster and the equilibrium gets disturbed. This results in symptoms like pain, pus formation, fever and body pain. This is the state of infection.

Now, the antibiotics are administered to eliminate bacteria. Since the bacterial growth in excess causes the symptoms of infection, removal of bacteria causes the symptoms to subside. But what follows is the deadly consequence that allopathy is ignorant of.

When the bacteria are wiped out, the immunity we have been enjoying due to their presences and resistance against the same bacteria are destroyed thus we are exposed to more virulent and frequent infections. This explains the recurrence of symptoms with more virulence and the need for stronger antibiotics and longer cures of treatment. In this way a simple, disease is rendered chronic whether it is simple sinusitis, tonsillitis, ear infection, amoebiasis, appendicitis, bronchitis or a simple case of pimples in adolescents.

Nothing can be cured by administering antibiotics, but can only be transformed into an aggravated and chronic form.

In the third year of the M.B.B.S. course we were taught Pharmacology. A very important ideology of modern medicine, as stated by Hippocrates, the Father of Modern Medicine, is:

“Not to harm a patient in the first place”.

But in practice it is exactly the opposite. Yes, we harm the patient in the first place!

For example, when we take a drug for Arthritis, Migraine or Sinus, even before the drug could have any effect on the disease, the harmful side effects of the drug begin to kill us.

This contradiction in what we read and what we find in actual clinical practice has been the reason for our dissatisfaction with Allopathic system of medicine.

Here is a related example to show the complicated results of giving a drug that seems simple. Hypertension patients are generally told to bring down their elevated blood pressure with diuretics-drugs that take water from the cells and pass it out of the system through urination.

This can lead to malnutrition combined with severe dehydration. In the view of some endocrinologists, the dehydration induced by diuretics in the presence of alcohol or tranquilizers is the leading cause of death among older Americans.

Since potassium is close to sodium in its atomic structure, the diuretic also causes it to be depleted, leading to weakness, fatigue, and leg cramps. (Less-adverse effects are gene rally noticed by the leaching of other trace elements, such as zinc and magnesium.).

In my own practice, I saw a lung-cancer patient who had lived comfortably with a coin-sized lesion in his lungs for years. It happened that after a few weeks the country went to war with a neighboring country, and all the young men of the town were forcibly taken for the military. Only the old man’s son was left because he was crippled.

The people gathered, crying and weeping, because from every house young people were forcibly taken away. And there was no possibility of their coming back, because the country that had attacked was a big country and the fight was a losing fight. They were not going to come back.

The whole town was crying and weeping, and they came to the old man and they said, `You were right, old man! God knows, you were right — this proved a blessing. Maybe your son is crippled, but still he is with you. Our sons are gone for ever. At least he is alive and with you, and, by and by, he will start walking. Maybe a little limp will be left, but he will be okay.’

The old man again said, `It is impossible to talk to you people, you go on and on and on — you go on judging. Nobody knows! Only say this: that your sons have been forced to enter into the military, into the army, and my son has not been forced. But nobody knows whether it is a blessing or a misfortune. Nobody will ever be able to know it. Only God knows.’

And when we say only God knows, it means only the Total knows. Judge ye not, otherwise you will never be able to become one with the Total. With fragments you will be obsessed, with small things you will jump to conclusions.

And Sufis are very insistent on this: that you never bother that there are things which are completely beyond you, but even about them you make judgments. Your consciousness is on a very low rung of the ladder. You live in the dark valley of misery, anguish, and from your darkest valleys of miseries you judge even a Buddha. Even a Buddha is not left without your judgment. Even a Jesus is judged by you — not only judged but crucified; judged and found guilty; judged and punished.

After fifteen days, suddenly one night, the horse returned. He had not been stolen; he had escaped to the wilderness. And not only did he come back, he brought a dozen wild horses with him.

Again the people gathered and they said, `Old man, you were right and we were wrong. It was not a misfortune, it proved to be a blessing. We are sorry that we insisted.

The old man said, `Again you are going too far. Just say that the horse is back, and say that twelve horses have come with the horse — but don’t judge. Who knows whether it is a blessing or not? It is only a fragment. Unless you know the whole story, how can you judge? You read one page of a book, how can you judge the whole book? You read a sentence in a page — how can you judge the whole page? You read a single word in a sentence — how can you judge the whole sentence? And even a single word is not in the hand — life is so vast — a fragment of a word and you have judged the whole! Don’t say that this is a blessing, nobody knows. And I am happy in my no-judgment; don’t disturb me.’

This time the people could not say much; maybe the old man was again right. So they kept silent, but inside they knew well that he was wrong. Twelve beautiful horses had come with the horse. A little training and they could all be sold and they would fetch much money.

In my earlier postings, I have mentioned:

Now let us go deep in to it.

The tension, confusion, fear, jealousy, ego, pride, worry, impatience, faithlessness, inferiority complex, anger, etc., do great harm to our mind, leading to diseases.

One of the important reasons why we get tensed, confused, afraid, etc., is, the unnecessary Judgments we have about ourselves and others.

If we learn to look at the facts without Judgments, our mind will be free from tension, confusion, fear, etc.  It will give freedom to us from the diseases we are suffering.

Here is a simple story which explains about the unnecessary Judgments we make in life.

Read this story.  Assimilate it, well.  Drop your Judgments.  And lead a disease free life.

OLD MAN’S HORSE

I will tell you a small story. It happened in the days of Lao Tzu in China, and Lao Tzu loved it very much. For generations the followers of Lao Tzu have been repeating the story and always finding more and more meaning in it. The story has grown; it has become a live factor.

The story is simple: There was an old man in a village, very poor, but even kings were jealous of him because he had a beautiful white horse. Such a horse had never been seen before — the beauty, the very grandeur, the strength. Kings asked for the horse and they offered fabulous prices, but the old man would say, `This horse is not a horse to me, he is a person, and how can you sell a person? He is a friend, he is not a possession. How can you sell a friend? No, it is not possible.’ The man was poor, there was every temptation, but he never sold the horse.

One morning, he suddenly found that the horse was not in the stable.

The whole village gathered and they said, `You foolish old man. We knew it beforehand, that some day the horse would be stolen. And you are so poor — how can you protect such a precious thing? It would have been better to sell it. You could have fetched any price you asked, any fancy price was possible. Now the horse is gone. It is a curse, a misfortune.’

The old man said, `Don’t go too far — simply say that the horse is not in the stable. This is the fact; everything else is a judgment. Whether it is a misfortune or not, how do you know? How do you judge?’

The people said, `Don’t try to befool us. We may not be great philosophers, but no philosophy is needed. It is a simple fact that a treasure has been lost, and it is a misfortune.’

The old man said, `I will stick to the fact that the stable is empty and the horse is gone. Anything else I don’t know — whether it is a misfortune or a blessing — because this is just a fragment. Who knows what is going to follow it?’

People laughed. They thought the old man had gone mad. They always knew it, that he was a little crazy; otherwise he would have sold this horse and lived in riches. But he was living like a woodcutter, and he was very old and still cutting wood and bringing the wood from the forest and selling it. He was living hand to mouth, in misery and poverty. Now it was completely certain that this man was crazy.

Frequently Asked Question:

Only when I take 2 glasses of water in the early morning, motion goes freely.  What should I do now?

Answer:

Today morning if the Sunrise, happens 10 minutes later than the scheduled time, what we will do? The only thing that we can do is, patiently wait for the sunrise to happen, is it not?

Similarly, we have to pass motion, only when it comes.  If we induce motion by drinking 2-3 glasses of water, water content in our body becomes excess and turns as waste - poison.  This will lead to diseases.

If we follow the nature's laws (Eating only when we are Hungry, Drinking water only when we are Thirsty, Taking Rest when our body, Going to bed by 9pm and not taking medicines), motion will automatically come out daily during a fixed time.

# Principle 2 of 5 – Drinking Water #

Yesterday I mentioned here as below:

Actor Amitabh Bachchan’s legs need to be cut by half a feet.

His wife Jaya Bhaduri Bachchan’s legs need to be pulled to increase their length by half a feet.

This is how Allopathy decides how much water a person should drink.  That's based on the average calculations.  Let me explain.

Actor Amitabh Bachchan’s height: 6 feet 3 inches.

His wife Jaya Bhaduri's height: 5 feet 3 inches.

Now Allopathy wants to decide the correct height of Amitabh Bachchan and his wife.

So, Allopathy adds Amitabh Bachchan’s height: 6 feet 3 inches with that of his wife's height: 5 feet 3 inches.

6' 3" + 5' 3" = 11' 6"

Now divide this 11' 6" by 2.

It will come to: 5 feet 9 inches.

So, Allopathy says that this should be the height of both Amitabh and his wife.

If based on this if Amitabh's legs are cut by half a feet and his wife's legs are pulled by half a feet, it makes sense to Allopathy.

But does that make sense to us?

This example has been told by Padhmabushan. Dr. B.M. Hegde, MBBS., MD., former Vice Chancellor of Manipal University.

This is how Allopathy decides, how much water a human being should drink.  That's based on the average calculations.

Allopathy applies this logic not only to drinking water, but also to all the calculations it does which include how much sugar / BP / Thyroid / Platelet count / Cholestrol, etc., a human being should have.

So, if we listen to them and drink 2 litres of water daily religiously, it may be more or it may be less to the quantum of thirst we have.

In both the above cases we will end up in diseases.

So, what should we do now?

We should drink water only to the quantum of thirst we have on a particular day.

That's the Law of Nature.

After the sunset in the evening the quantum of our hunger will be less.

Our body tells us here:

- Don't eat more.  Eat only to the level of your hunger.

- If the quantum of your hunger is too less, just take fruits or juice.

- On a given night, if you're not hungry at all, don't eat at all.  This applies not only to the night time, but also for the whole day.  

- During night time, eat easily digestible food items.

- Eat early in the night.

Diabetes - Is there a permanent cure?

A person who is diabetic, should he need to make changes in his food style.

Answer:

When we understand a problem fully well, we are sure to come out of it.
So, let us see what is Diabetes.

Acupuncture principles say that, Diabetes is due to two reasons.

1. Insufficient digestive energy in our stomach.

2. Indigestion: That is for a long period, day after day, when we continue to eat food,  when we are not hungry,  it results in indigestion.  

On both the above situations, our body considers most of what we eat as waste.

It refuses to process that part of food, which it has considered as waste.  Hence, our body refuses to secrete Insulin, which results in increase of sugar level in our body.

The only permanent solution for Diabetes is:

(a) Increasing our digestive energy in our stomach.  

(b) Eating only when we're hungry and drinking water only when we're thirsty.

(c) Going to bed by 9pm in the night.  The reason being only when we are in deep sleep by 10pm, our body produces on its own all the required hormones (including Insulin) and medicines.

(d) Stopping all medicines.  The reason being, our body doesn't accept any medicine given from outside.

Here taking Acupuncture treatment will increase our immunity power.  This will result in increasing our digestive energy to it's required level and give good sleep when we go to bed by 9pm.

When a person does this, he can eat whatever he wants.

I have skin itching / skin allergy. How can I come out of this?

Principle 1 of 5 - Eating - Continued.....

Yesterday, there was a question to me over telephone from one of the members of this group.  He asked:

What is the cause of itching?

Answer:

When we continue to eat and drink unmindful of our hunger and thirst, the undigested food remains in our body as accumulated waste.

As we don't keep any waste inside our house, our body which houses our life also doesn't want to keep the such accumulated wastes.

At the first level our body tries to send such accumulate wastes through Fever, Cold, Vomiting and Diarrhea. And when we suppress it using medicines they try to come out through skin.  The reason being accumulated wastes if remain in our body for a long time, it will lead to chronic diseases.

Subsequent Question:

Okay I have skin itching / allergy. How can I come out of this?

Answer:

- Eat only when you're hungry.  Drink water only when you're thirsty. Go to bed at 9pm in the night.

- After 6 pm if you feel hungry take only fruits or juice.

When it's said fruits,  we should not end up taking the same fruit every day, say for example banana.

Let it be a mixture of all fruits or you can take today Banana, tomorrow Mozhumbi, day after tomorrow Apple, like that.

- Stop using soap for bathing.  All soaps come with harmful chemicals. This also includes the so called Ayurvedic Soaps.

- For cleaning the body at the time of bathing, we can use Green Gram Powder (In Karada Language: Mugha Powder).  In Kannada it's called as 'Hesuru Bele'.  

- Don't take any medicines or apply cream or ointment.

- Keep your digestion very simple.  For this stay away from milk, curd, coffee and tea (with milk), deep fried food items (Chips, Vadai, Chowkuli, etc.), biscuits, bread and pizza.

1. Milk, Curd, Milk added products like Tea, Coffee, Sweets, etc.

2. All Bakery products made of Wheat and Maida, which includes Bread, Pizza, Biscuit, etc.

a. Staying away from the above food items.

b. Eating only when we are hungry.
